Writer's Block

I've been working on a story for a while, and it was going great. I was having a great time writing it, then I LOST THE NOTEBOOK! I was actually writing it out by hand, in a spiral bound notebook, and the book disappeared!!! I guess I need to go back to the .txt file I have of it somewhere and pick it back up there, but I know I'm gonna change the story. That bugs me, because I really don't want to change how it was going.
